1928'de Brüksel'de doğan, 2019'da Paris'te ölen Varda, Fransız Yeni Dalgası'nın öncüsü olmadan önce fotoğrafçıydı. Sıcaklık, merak ve güçlü bir feminist bakışla kurmaca ile belgesel arasında özgürce gezindi.
