Saudi Arabia
Public cinemas were banned in Saudi Arabia from the early 1980s until 2018, so its filmmaking is very young. Haifaa al-Mansour's Wadjda (2012), the first feature shot entirely in the kingdom by a Saudi woman, is its landmark film.
