Plot
Alvy Singer, a neurotic New York comedian, looks back on his relationship with Annie Hall, a flighty singer from the Midwest, trying to understand why it failed. The film breaks the fourth wall, uses animation, subtitles and flashbacks, and replaces traditional storytelling with jokes and observations. Woody Allen's 1977 film, with Diane Keaton, won four Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and redefined the romantic comedy.
Sinekatalog’s take
Woody Allen's romantic comedy dissects a failed relationship with direct address to camera and jumbled chronology. Diane Keaton is delightful, and the film reshaped the modern romcom.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
