Plot
Nina, a perfectionist ballerina in a New York company, wins the part of the Swan Queen in Swan Lake, which requires her to play both the innocent White Swan and the seductive Black Swan. Under pressure from her mother, her director and a rival, Lily, she begins to lose her grip on reality. Darren Aronofsky's 2010 psychological thriller, with Natalie Portman, who won an Oscar, is intense and disturbing.
Sinekatalog’s take
A ballerina cracks under pressure while dancing Swan Lake. Aronofsky's psychological horror is feverish and stylish, with Natalie Portman's all-in performance at its centre.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
