Plot
On the hottest day of the summer, in a Brooklyn neighbourhood in Bedford–Stuyvesant, tension grows between the local residents and Sal's Famous Pizzeria, run by an Italian-American family. A disagreement over the pizzeria's wall of fame leads to a night of violence. Spike Lee's 1989 film, in which he also stars, is a vibrant, angry and funny portrait of racial tensions in America.
Sinekatalog’s take
Spike Lee sets a hot Brooklyn day on a collision course. Vibrant, funny and angry, it ends in violence that remains hard to read, which is the point of its lasting debate.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
