“The One...The Only...The FABULOUS...”

1941 · 1 h 4 min
Directed by Ben Sharpsteen

Cast

Edward Brophy Herman Bing Verna Felton

Plot

A baby circus elephant, born with enormous ears, is mocked by the other animals and separated from his mother. With the help of Timothy Mouse, a small, loyal friend, he discovers that his ears allow him to fly, and turns from a laughing stock into a star. Ben Sharpsteen's 1941 Disney film is short and economical, with striking sequences such as the dreamlike "Pink Elephants on Parade", and it is a moving story of acceptance.

Sinekatalog’s take

Disney's short, tender fable about an outcast elephant is moving and inventive. The 'Pink Elephants on Parade' sequence is wonderfully surreal, and the film's heart overcomes its dated bits.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
