A rigid New England missionary marries a young woman and sails to Hawaii, where his zeal clashes with the islanders.

Sinekatalog’s take

George Roy Hill's epic, with Julie Andrews, Max von Sydow and Richard Harris, is long and sweeping, with a strong take on colonial arrogance.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
