Plot

Four friends in Paris, a pilot, a judge, a chef and a television producer, retire to a villa for a weekend of eating, with the plan to do so until they die. They are joined by prostitutes and a schoolteacher, Andrea, and the feast becomes ever more grotesque. Marco Ferreri's 1973 film, with Marcello Mastroianni, Ugo Tognazzi, Michel Piccoli and Philippe Noiret, caused a scandal at Cannes, and is a savage satire of consumer excess.

Sinekatalog’s take

Marco Ferreri's grotesque satire has four friends eating themselves to death. Gross, funny and scandalous, it is a bold, repellent allegory of consumer excess that provoked uproar at Cannes.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
