Plot

Lucas Marsh, a poor and driven medical student, marries the older nurse Kristina, who has savings, so that he can finish his studies. As a young doctor in a small town he rejects every compromise, while his friend Alfred and his marriage are tested. Adapted from Morton Thompson's bestselling novel.
