Plot

A vacuum salesman becomes an agent for British intelligence by inventing his reports.

Sinekatalog’s take

Carol Reed's Graham Greene adaptation has Alec Guinness inventing spy reports as a vacuum cleaner salesman. Witty and sly, with a sharp Cold War satire, it is a dry, charming comedy of espionage.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
