Plot

In the 1850s, Adam Pontipee, a backwoodsman, comes down from the mountains to find a wife and takes the spirited Milly home to his farm, where his six wild brothers live. Inspired by Milly's lesson in manners, the brothers kidnap six women from a nearby town, which leads to a winter of trouble. Howard Keel and Jane Powell star.

Sinekatalog’s take

A vigorous, athletic musical whose barn-raising dance is one of the great set pieces of the genre. Its story is dated and politically dubious, but Michael Kidd's choreography is thrilling.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
