Plot
In 1944, an army major, Reisman, is told to train twelve convicted soldiers, murderers and rapists among them, for a suicidal mission: to parachute into France before D-Day and kill German officers at a chateau. Promised a pardon if they survive, the twelve slowly become a unit. Lee Marvin leads a famous cast.
Sinekatalog’s take
A rough, funny war film that was a huge box-office hit and became the model for 'men on a mission' action movies. The final assault is brutal, and the cast, from Charles Bronson to Telly Savalas, is excellent.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
