Plot

In Austria in 1938 the young postulant Maria is sent from her abbey to be governess to the seven children of the widowed Captain von Trapp, a strict naval officer. She brings music and play into the house and wins the family's love, but the Anschluss means the Captain must choose between his country and his conscience. Based on the true story of the Trapp Family Singers.
