Plot

Cecil B. DeMille's 1956 remake follows Moses from his rescue as a baby and upbringing in the household of Pharaoh to his exile, his encounter with the burning bush and his return to demand the freedom of the Hebrew slaves. Plagues strike Egypt, the Red Sea is parted, and Moses receives the law on Mount Sinai while his people worship the golden calf below. With Charlton Heston as Moses and Yul Brynner as Ramses, and spectacular sets and special effects, it was one of the largest box-office successes of its time.

Sinekatalog’s take

DeMille's biblical epic with Charlton Heston as Moses is full of lavish sets and a famous parting of the Red Sea. Grand and old-fashioned, it is still an Easter-television staple.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
