Plot
In Edinburgh, a group of friends, Renton, Sick Boy, Spud, Begbie and Tommy, live between highs and lows as heroin addicts. Renton tries to get clean, and tries a new life in London, but is drawn back by his friends and a last chance for money. Danny Boyle's 1996 film, with Ewan McGregor, is a fast, energetic and darkly funny view of addiction and youth culture.
Sinekatalog’s take
Danny Boyle's kinetic Edinburgh heroin comedy is frantic, funny and horrifying by turns. Its soundtrack and attitude defined nineties British film, though it never pretends addiction is fun for long.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
