Plot

Boonmee, a man dying of kidney failure on his farm in rural Thailand, is visited by the ghost of his wife and by his long-lost son, who has returned in the form of an ape-like spirit. Together they travel to a cave in the jungle, where he believes he was born. Apichatpong Weerasethakul's 2010 film is a gentle, hypnotic blend of myth and reality that won the Palme d'Or.

Sinekatalog’s take

Apichatpong Weerasethakul's Palme d'Or winner is a gentle, spectral Thai fable of death and reincarnation. Slow, mysterious and hypnotic, it blends jungle ghosts with calm humour.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
