Plot
Sixteen years after the Romanian revolution, a small-town television host in Vaslui invites two guests to debate whether the town took part in the revolution against Ceaușescu, by being in the square before 12:08 on the day he fled. The calls from viewers raise doubts about the story. Corneliu Porumboiu's 2006 film is a deadpan comedy about memory and history, and won the Caméra d'Or at Cannes.
Sinekatalog’s take
Corneliu Porumboiu's deadpan comedy has a TV host debating whether his town joined the 1989 revolution. Dry, talky and sharp, it is a funny, smart puncturing of national myth.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
