Plot
A widow and a widower, Anne and Jean-Louis, meet by chance at their children's boarding school in Deauville, and begin to talk over the weekend. Both still haunted by their lost partners, they slowly fall in love. Claude Lelouch's 1966 film, with Anouk Aimée and Jean-Louis Trintignant, famous for its swirling camerawork and Francis Lai's theme, won the Palme d'Or at Cannes and two Academy Awards.
Sinekatalog’s take
Claude Lelouch's romantic drama of two widowed strangers falling in love is lyrical and stylish. Francis Lai's music, Anouk Aimée's grace and its shifting colour and black-and-white are endlessly romantic.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
