Sinekatalog’s take

Juzo Itami's gentle drama, adapted from Kenzaburō Ōe's novel, follows a family caring for a mentally disabled brother while the father is away. Quiet and humane, it is a tender, understated film, unlike Itami's usual comedies.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
