Plot

Randle McMurphy, a convict who fakes insanity to avoid a prison work farm, is transferred to a mental hospital, where he challenges the strict regime of Nurse Ratched. He encourages the other patients, such as the silent Chief Bromden, to take back some control of their lives, with tragic results. Miloš Forman's 1975 film, with Jack Nicholson and Louise Fletcher, won the five major Academy Awards.

Sinekatalog’s take

Jack Nicholson's rebel clashes with Louise Fletcher's icy Nurse Ratched in a psychiatric ward. A sharp study of conformity and institutional control, funny first, devastating later.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
