Plot

Her debut, adapted from her novel, about the sexual stirrings of a fourteen-year-old girl. Because of her producer's bankruptcy it was not shown for about twenty years. Known in French as Une vraie jeune fille.

Sinekatalog’s take

Catherine Breillat's explicit debut follows a fourteen-year-old's sexual awakening during a stifling summer. Raw, bold and awkward, long unreleased, it is a provocative, divisive first statement of her themes.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
