An adaptation of Conrad's novel.
Sinekatalog’s take
Chantal Akerman's late adaptation of Conrad moves the colonial tale of a failing trader and his daughter to Southeast Asia in a slow, humid, hallucinatory mood. Stanislas Merhar is haunted in an odd, hypnotic and uneven film.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
