Sinekatalog’s take

Nikita Mikhalkov's adaptation of Chekhov's Platonov gathers bored Russian gentry at a summer estate where longings and failures surface. Alexander Kalyagin is superb in a lush, bittersweet, beautifully acted film full of heat and ennui.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
