Sinekatalog’s take

Ousmane Sembène and Thierno Faty Sow's drama retells the 1944 massacre of African soldiers demanding pay at a Senegalese camp. Angry, dignified and moving, it is a powerful indictment of colonial betrayal and a landmark of African cinema.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
