Plot

Julie, a librarian, meets the eccentric Céline in a Paris park, and they become friends. The two women enter a mysterious house, where a melodrama of jealousy and murder repeats itself, and they find that a magic sweet allows them to watch it and change its outcome. Jacques Rivette's 1974 film, playful and improvised and over three hours long, is a celebration of female friendship and the imagination.

Sinekatalog’s take

Jacques Rivette's playful fantasy has two women entering a haunted house to watch a murder melodrama repeat. Long, dreamy and witty, with sweets that induce visions, it is a joyous feminist riff on cinema and storytelling.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
