Plot

A drama of Turkish society directed by Derviş Zaim, known in English as Elephants and Grass. It won Zaim the Golden Orange for best director in 2000. The film's title comes from a proverb about how, when elephants fight, it is the grass that gets trampled, and it examines the effect of political and social conflict on ordinary people.

Sinekatalog’s take

Derviş Zaim's drama, whose title comes from a proverb about elephants fighting while the grass suffers, deals with ordinary people crushed by greater powers. Winner of Golden Orange for direction, it is a bold, thoughtful Turkish film.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
