Sinekatalog’s take
Teinosuke Kinugasa's samurai drama follows a warrior demanding another man's wife as reward. Visually ravishing in early colour, with Machiko Kyō luminous, it won the Palme d'Or and Oscar, a tragedy of obsession and honour.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
