Sinekatalog’s take

Nagisa Oshima's samurai drama sees a beautiful young recruit unsettle a rigid Shinsengumi unit. Elegant, tense and erotic, with Takeshi Kitano and a restrained final act, it is a subtle study of desire and discipline.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
