Plot

A nonlinear series of sketches about the residents of Xenia, Ohio, a town hit by a tornado. Teenagers shoot cats, sniff glue and wander the streets, among a series of strange characters. Harmony Korine's 1997 directorial debut is a divisive, impressionistic film that mixes documentary style and fiction, and became a cult classic.

Sinekatalog’s take

Harmony Korine's fragmentary portrait of a tornado-struck Ohio town is a provocative, ugly-beautiful collage. It is deliberately off-putting and plotless, but unforgettable images give it a strange, outsider-art power.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
