Born in Bolinas, California, in 1973, Harmony Korine wrote the screenplay of Larry Clark's Kids (1995) at twenty-one. As a director he makes fragmented, provocative films about the American margins: Gummo (1997), Julien Donkey-Boy (1999), Trash Humpers (2009), Spring Breakers (2012), The Beach Bum (2019) and Aggro Dr1ft (2023). Gummo won prizes at Venice, and Spring Breakers competed for the Golden Lion.
