Plot

Set in Istanbul during a nationwide power cut, it follows four characters in a neighbourhood that is being gentrified, as they face the transformation of the city and their own lives. Azra Deniz Okyay's 2020 film, whose title means "Ghosts", is an energetic portrait of a younger generation in a city under pressure.

Sinekatalog’s take

Azra Deniz Okyay's drama follows four Istanbulites during a power cut in a neighbourhood being gentrified, as their lives collide. Dark, energetic and political, with a young cast, it is a bold, uneven portrait of the city's tensions.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
