Sinekatalog’s take

Nelson Pereira dos Santos's satire follows a captured Frenchman living a year among the Tupinambá before being eaten. Sensual, comic and sharp about colonialism, it is a bold, much-discussed Cinema Novo classic.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
