Plot

In a small Tennessee town in 1925, a young teacher is arrested for teaching Darwin's theory of evolution. The case draws two celebrated lawyers, the fundamentalist Matthew Harrison Brady and the agnostic Henry Drummond, and a cynical reporter, E.K. Hornbeck. The film is a fictionalised account of the Scopes trial, adapted from the play by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee.
