Sinekatalog’s take

Michael Winterbottom's Hardy adaptation is bleak, unglamorous and moving. Christopher Eccleston and Kate Winslet are superb as doomed cousins, and the film's harsh realism makes the tragedy hit hard.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
