A couple in crisis visits a fishing village in the south of France, alongside scenes of the villagers' lives.
Sinekatalog’s take
Agnès Varda's debut intertwines a couple's crisis with the daily life of a fishing village. Fresh, spare and documentary-like, it is often seen as the first film of the French New Wave and a forceful early statement of her style.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
