Plot
In the early twentieth century, a boxer-turned-removal-man reads Hugo's novel and finds that his own life reflects the story of Jean Valjean.
Sinekatalog’s take
Claude Lelouch's reimagining places Hugo's story inside the life of a 20th-century boxer-turned-removal-man. Sweeping and warm, with Jean-Paul Belmondo, it is a clever, emotional epic that echoes the classic across decades.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
