Plot
A dying man recalls his childhood, his mother and wartime Russia in a fragmented, poetic structure.
Sinekatalog’s take
Tarkovsky's autobiographical, non-linear film interweaves childhood memories, newsreel and his father's poetry. Difficult, personal and astonishingly beautiful, it is a film to feel rather than follow.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
