A samurai's fate.
Sinekatalog’s take
Tadashi Imai's drama, adapted from a Chikamatsu play, follows a samurai's fate in a tragic tale of honour, jealousy and doomed love. Stylised and sombre, in black and white, it is a powerful, formally accomplished period film.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
