Plot

Fabian, a law student who has abandoned his studies, kills a moneylender in the Philippines. Another man, Joaquin, a poor family man, is imprisoned for the crime, and his wife and children struggle to live. The film follows both men in a meditation on guilt and justice, inspired by Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment. Lav Diaz's 2013 film runs for about four hours.
