Sinekatalog’s take

Nicholas Ray's noir follows a violent city cop whose redemption comes in a snowy countryside. Robert Ryan and Ida Lupino are superb, and Bernard Herrmann's score lifts a taut, unusually humane film.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
