Plot
Chris Taylor, a young American volunteer, arrives in Vietnam in 1967 and soon sees the brutality of war. His platoon is split between two sergeants: the humane Elias and the vicious Barnes, and Chris must choose between the two. Oliver Stone's 1986 film, drawn from his own experiences, with Charlie Sheen, Tom Berenger and Willem Dafoe, won four Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
Sinekatalog’s take
Oliver Stone draws on his own Vietnam service. Charlie Sheen's rookie is caught between two sergeants, played by Tom Berenger and Willem Dafoe, in a muddy, morally split war film.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
