Sinekatalog’s take
Manoel de Oliveira's film blends documentary and narrative to stage a village Passion play in northern Portugal. Austere and reverent, with a fascinating mix of reality and performance, it is an early work in his singular career.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
