Plot

Two minor characters from Hamlet, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, wander through the edges of the play, puzzled about what they are doing and where they are going. They bet on coin tosses, philosophise and are swept into events they do not understand, towards a fate they cannot change. Tom Stoppard's 1990 film of his own play, with Gary Oldman and Tim Roth, won the Golden Lion at Venice.

Sinekatalog’s take

Tom Stoppard's film of his own absurdist play follows Hamlet's two doomed minor characters. Gary Oldman and Tim Roth make a funny pair, and the wordplay and existential jokes are a feast for fans.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
