Plot
A circus owner's affair with an actress leads to a series of humiliations.
Sinekatalog’s take
Ingmar Bergman's early circus drama traces a ringmaster's shame and a savage humiliation scene. Harsh and expressive, with Harriet Andersson vivid, it is a stark, theatrical study of degradation and desire.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
