Sinekatalog’s take

Arne Mattsson's drama, from Halldór Laxness's novel, follows a girl in an Icelandic fishing village growing into a strong woman. Gunnel Broström is good in a sober, rugged and earnest adaptation of a Nordic classic.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
