Plot
An adaptation of Smetana's opera.
Sinekatalog’s take
Max Ophüls's early film of Smetana's opera sets the Czech comic tale of village love and a marriage broker to music. Light, bright and graceful, with a sweeping camera, it is a charming, if small, early Ophüls work.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
