Plot

Fausta, a young woman in Lima, believes she has inherited her mother's fear of the violence of the Shining Path years, through her mother's milk. She carries a potato in her body to protect herself. When her mother dies, she has to work as a maid for a pianist, to pay for the funeral. Claudia Llosa's 2009 film won the Golden Bear in Berlin and was nominated for an Academy Award.
