Plot

A group of executives of a Spanish firm gather at a country lodge to discuss business, and their meeting soon descends into mutual accusations, intrigue and absurdity. The title refers to a fish, a symbol of what they are chasing. José Luis García Sánchez's 1978 satire, which won a prize at the San Sebastián festival, mocks the corruption and pretensions of the Spanish business class in the last years of Franco's rule.

Sinekatalog’s take

José Luis García Sánchez's satire gathers Spanish executives at a country lodge, where a meeting dissolves into intrigue and absurdity. Sharp in intent, but uneven and aimless, it is a minor political farce that labours its metaphors.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
