Plot
In 1913, an ageing gang of outlaws led by Pike Bishop takes part in a botched railroad office robbery in Texas, which turns into a massacre. Pursued by bounty hunters led by a former partner, they cross into Mexico and take on a job for a corrupt general, leading to a final, ferocious shoot-out. Sam Peckinpah's 1969 Western, with its slow-motion violence, challenged conventions of the genre and is a landmark of the New Hollywood.
Sinekatalog’s take
Peckinpah's elegiac western sends aging outlaws on a final job in 1913. Its slow-motion shootouts and bloody finale changed screen violence, and the film mourns the end of the West.Sinekatalog’s own editorial review – not a user or critic quote.
