Plot

After a car accident kills her husband, a composer, and their young daughter, Julie tries to free herself from the past by cutting off her ties and starting a new life in Paris. But she cannot escape the music, and her husband's unfinished work. Krzysztof Kieślowski's 1993 film, with Juliette Binoche, the first of his trilogy, is a subtle meditation on grief and liberty.
